Dear Parents/Carers
It has come to our attention in school that some young people are accessing a website called Omegle.com for entertainment purposes and are inadvertently putting themselves in a vulnerable position with regards to sexual predators and paedophiles.
Omegle is an 18+ website which allows a person to be randomly paired with a stranger who may or may not share similar interests. On many occasions the children are being paired with adult men engaging in sexual activity. There have also been incidents whereby the men have asked the children to expose themselves, act out and give information.
If all parents and carers can please monitor their child’s internet use it would be much appreciated so that we can work together to keep our children safe online.
