Uniform Expectations
School uniform is compulsory for all pupils. We expect pupils to attend school dressed smartly in correct uniform at all times. We believe that first impressions count and, by continually reinforcing our standards of uniform and appearance, we aim to prepare our pupils for the world of work. Furthermore, our uniform sets the foundations for high standards in other aspects of school life, including a positive work ethic and conduct in and around school.
We recognise that, for families, purchasing uniform and ensuring a child arrives to school dressed appropriately can be a stressful time. To ensure clarity, the school has created a uniform guide designed to support families, and students, with the process by outlining our expectations which, in turn, will help everyone understand our expectations.
Our intention is to ensure that students look smart but not at the undue expense of families. We have ensured as a school that the cost of our uniform is affordable yet of the highest quality.
All pupils in Years 7 – 11 are expected to wear school uniform as outlined below
- Navy blazer and school badge;
- Blue or grey jumper (optional);
- Grey skirt. The waist band must not be rolled-over and the length of the skirt should be appropriate for a school environment;
- Tailored grey trousers;
- Plain white shirt, short or long-sleeved with collar;
- School tie;
- Formal leather school shoes only, no trainers, Vans or branded sports shoes, and
- Grey or white knee length socks, or grey/black tights for the girls.
We ask that all items of school uniform and sports kit are clearly marked with the student’s name for ease of identification.
Please let us know if you have any queries about school uniform. We have developed our own Uniform Shop in school with pre-loved items of uniform, that can support families with replacements if needed. Please contact Miss Gittins by email for more information.
